EMPOWERING THE ARTIST: THE ARTIST’S ROLE IN SOCIETY
In this class, we will examine building the actors’ craft and the relationship of their work to society. We will examine the pioneers of contemporary acting theory as our base, starting with the Group Theatre and into the present. Actors will investigate how their creative life corresponds to the world they live in. Required text for class: Each student will need to purchase a copy of An Actor Prepares by Constantin Stanislavski for class.
