THEATRE HISTORY: PULITZER PRIZE PLAYS

The purpose of this course is to begin to discover how to read and analyze plays as literature and from an actor’s perspective.  Students are expected to read the play before class, and to bring a copy to class. A new play will be introduced every two weeks, with discussion  of social relevance, theme, character analysis, author’s intention and background,  structure, tone, and finding actor’s personal connection to the material.  We will read the play aloud in class.

Duration: 2 hours each class.
