Voice Professor

Erika's work with actors and singers lives in the interplay of voice, movement, breath, text and the imagination. She began training in voice and movement at the age of 12 at Shakespeare and Company and was fortunate to work with Kristin Linklater, Tina Packer, and Karen Beaumont as her early teachers. Erika attended Boston Conservatory of Music, and then moved to New York City for graduate studies at Circle in the Square. While in New York City, Erika began a more concentrated study in movement work and had the great fortune of studying with Moni & Mina Yakim. Since moving to Los Angeles, Erika has been certified as an Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework®, working closely with Catherine Fitzmaurice. Fitzmaurice Voicework's highly individualized and comprehensive approach now forms the foundation of her work with the voice and breathing. Erika has taught voice and Shakespeare text in the theater department at UC Santa Barbara. She is currently finishing her Somatic Experiencing training to support all of the work she teaches.
